Pine selects Extreme networks to provide ethernet network for lawful interception solution
Wednesday 28 July 2004
SANTA CLARA, Calif., July 28, 2004 - Pine Digital Security has selected Extreme Networks, Inc.'s (Nasdaq: EXTR) award-winning Ethernet switching solutions to enable its large Internet Service Provider (ISP) customers to comply with the Dutch TIIT Lawful Interception Standard.
Extreme Networks' family of networking solutions, the BlackDiamond® and Alpine® modular Ethernet switches and the Summit® family of fixed-configuration switches work with Pine Digital Security's EVE software to filter intercepted Ethernet links without degrading network throughput. With this advanced networking technology, ISPs can better comply with the Dutch Law Enforcement Agency (LEA) which requires ISPs to give them the means to monitor data networks. A similar European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) specification applying to all of Europe was released in February 2003.
