Pine integrates "open" data retention in EVE lawful interception solution
Wednesday 03 December 2008
Pine Digital Security announces that, launching second half 2009, the EVE lawful interception solution will be extended with data retention (DR). Before legislation is officially in place in most European countries, EVE customers can already plan compliancy with the upcoming regulations. Provided as an easy-to-install plugin for current EVE deployments, the DR extension consists of:
- Data Gatherers (DG). By both using passive "catch-all" probes and/or integration with (sys)log systems ISPs can easily gather the data to be stored, without the need for complicated network- and system changes.
- Storage Engine (SE). All DR records are normalized to an efficient XML format, centrally stored and optionally correlated to subscriber records.
- Retrieval Interface (RI). The request of the Law Enforcement Agency is easily entered into the EVE management interface. The request is then forwarded to the storage system and the resulting data is handed over to the LEA using ETSI's TS 102 657 handover interface.
An important feature of the EVE-DR extension is that the interface from and to the Storage Engine is completely open: Pine will publish an API for communication with the SE. Using the API, third party manufacturers can easily plug in to the EVE-DR system. Of course it is also possible to use the default Storage Engine, which is a part of the EVE-DR solution.
As you may expect from Pine, we will offer the best price/performance ratio available in the market.
