Pine announces EVE 2.6 with support for Cisco's LI extentions
Thursday 01 July 2004
The latest version of the EVE lawful interception system, version 2.6, has been announced today. Besides a few cosmetic and usability changes in the management system, version 2.6 adds the ability to directly communicate with Cisco's LI-enabled IOS versions. This enables (large) network operators to intercept target traffic directly at the edge of the network, where there are no hard-to-sniff MPLS connections or hard-to-sniff ATM links. Also, traffic between two ADSL or cable users typically passes the edge router but does not reach the core of the operator's network. With the Cisco LI functionality this traffic can be lawfully intercepted.
